In 1922, football players of Slavia Prague (ex-Czechoslovakia) during their trainings started to kick the ball over a wooden bench, later a rope. At the same time, a similar game appeared in České Budějovice.
Regular futnet tournaments were held between 1939 and 1948 in Žluté lázně in Prague. First futnet rules were issued in 1940 and futnet was promoted during volleyball matches in recreation settlements built by tramps. A tramps league with the participation of 10 teams was played between 1953 and 1961.
In 1961 futnet was recognised as an official sport in Czechoslovakia. In 1971, Czech Futnet Association was founded and 1st league started a year later.
